Yoga is derived from the Sanskrit word Yuj, which means the union of the individual consciousness or soul with the Universal Consciousness. Yoga is a 5000 year old Indian body of knowledge. Yoga is not only physical exercise with stretching, breathing and meditation, it is a way of life that ultimately leads to inner peace and connection to oneself.
Kundalini Yoga
A Technology of Awareness
Yogi Bhajan came from India to America in the late 60s and began teaching Kundalini Yoga during a youth movement towards self-knowledge and self-discovery. He spread the practice by combining his innate wisdom with his training in yogic sciences and simple lifestyle practices from his culture.
Kundalini Yoga consists of active and passive asana-based kriyas, pranayama, andmeditations which target all the systems in the body.
Kundalini is your creative potential. You experience it when the energy of the glandular system combines with the energy of the nervous system to create a signal that the brain receives and integrates. You become totally aware and your creative potential becomes available to you. You strengthen your immune system, glands, nervous system, circulation, and gain an awareness of the impact your habits have. You gain energy and can more clearly deal with all the mental, emotional, and spiritual facets in your life. You have the opportunity to know, test, and grow.
Vinyasa Yoga
Vinyasa means "breath-synchronized movement"and Vinyasa yoga is a series of poses that will move you through the power of inhaling and exhaling. These are smooth movements that flow from one to the next and can encourage physical challenge as well as mental and spiritual.
Yoga pranala
Yoga Pranala combines traditional Yoga practices in Hatha and Vinyasa yoga with Mudra Pranala, an ancient Balinese healing system based on energetic movements of the body. The aim is to connect ourselves with the universal consciousness to go beyond the limits of the mind. As we practice, we learn to connect and be receptive to the energy of Mother Earth and the energy of the universe, Father Sky. When these are in balance within us, it appears as life force energy which helps balance us physically, mentally and spiritually.
